My aim is to provide high quality tree care while caring for our environment. Trees cannot be seen in isolation from the rest of the ecosystem as they are living organisms that react and adapt to changes in their environment.

Our Story

Where It All Began

Wild Tree Care was founded by myself, Matthew Wild, in 2015. Previously I had worked in the industry for five years, gaining experience in the UK and overseas in British Columbia, Canada. I grew up here in Norfolk, and trained at Easton College, completing the National Diploma in Forestry and Arboriculture.

Our aim is to provide high quality tree care with a focus on conservation and caring for the natural environment. We only take trees down as a last resort and will use all the tools and techniques available to us to retain them.

Our staff are NPTC qualified and First Aid trained. We hold Public Liability upto £5 million and waste carriers licence. We adhere to BS3998 for tree pruning and all waste material is recycled and disposed of responsibly.

Tree surgery is a hazardous profession, so it is vital to keep up to date with industry best practice guidelines. The tools and techniques used by arborists have advanced rapidly. As has our understanding of trees and how they interact with the natural and built environment. There are a number of people offering tree surgery across Norfolk, but what sets us apart is that we are qualified, and crucially, insured. We do not offer other services such as general gardening or fencing. We believe tree surgery requires focussed dedication and is not something that anyone with a chainsaw can have a go at.

Matthew and team did a great job reducing our very large yew in very small front garden. Highly recommended for stress-free tree management. I had a dying pine tree removed, and was impressed by how tidy Matthew and his team worked and left the area. Very helpful in diagnosing what had caused the tree to die as well, which will help me in deciding what to replace it with.

Excellent work from Wild Tree Care. Matthew visited and provided knowledgeable advice on how to maintain or reduce several of our trees.He and his team arrived on time, confirmed the planned work, and explained exactly how they would proceed. They were equipped with an awesome array of tools and were clearly able to attack anything. Throughout the work everyone was very competent, courteous, and accommodating. On completion they checked with us that everything was as we expected. They did a great job and left the garden tidier than when they arrived.This firm works to high level of competence and professionalism. Highly recommended.

I found Wild tree care on a simple Google search. An appointment with Matthew was made and he arrived promptly. I had large overgrown tree in a front garden that required removing. As the tree was in a conservation area planning was required.Matthew dealt with everything, he surveyed the tree giving me a full explanation from his extensive knowledge of all things arboreal. He dealt with planning from application right through to the final decision including making contact with the planning office to verify their decision.Matthew arrived on the day at 8.30 as promised and with his two colleagues set to work immediately. The work was completed and the tree removed without fuss and the whole area cleaned leaving no trace..Matthew is a consummate professional and keeps you updated throughout. I have no hesitation in fully recommending Wild Tree Care to any person who requires the assistance of an arborist..

I have used Wild Tree Care on 2 occasions in the past couple of years to remove trees from our garden. On both occasions they arrived promptly when they said they would, carried out the work quickly and without any fuss and left the garden tidy and clear of debris. Just a quick review to thank Matthew and his team for their excellent work on a couple of jobs in our garden. They made a lovely neat job of lowering the height of an unruly conifer hedge and bringing long forgotten light to the garden. The main job was thinning out and tidying our 50 year old monkey puzzle tree. A tricky and prickly job, but the finished 'product' is a stunner! Everything was left tidy and Matthew and the team were very friendly and knowledgeable. All the advice given about how much tree to prune was explained well and made good sense. We would definitely recommend Wild Tree Care.
